I don't know how I expected to fully enjoy a vacation like this. It's fun, and all, but there's just so much to worry about. Sneaking out of bed in the middle of the night, scouring lists, it's ridiculous, I'll wake up Matthew and I have no excuse for this.

...I should just tell him. At least then, if it goes wrong, he'll have seen it coming.

France is beautiful. There may have been a setback or two, but we're all having a good time now. In the morning we're going on the move again...I feel like visiting Bordeaux. And then, hopefully, Normandy.

[Maybe she was just thinking too hard about it. Anything to take her mind off the tangled web of drama and worrying that had become her life, lately. She sighs, shaking her head.]

Nevermind. I'm exhausted. My body doesn't have enough energy to keep up with my brain, I'm afraid. [Lili lays her head against Matthew's chest, her eyes closing and opening again half-lidded.]

[ Her obvious lack of energy came to Matthew as a surprise. After all, they had shared a bed since the start of vacation and kept similar sleeping schedules because of it. Unlike her, he felt perfectly rested (naps aside) despite the level of activity they subscribed to during the day. Lili was an athlete like him as well, if not a much better one, anyway. [Lili wasted no time getting herself comfortable, wrapping an arm around Matthew's chest, and nestling her face into the crook of his neck. Smiling, she pressed a kiss against his skin.]

No, not enough to keep me awake. There's just...to many things going on, thinking about them is turning me into an insomniac. [Choose your words carefully, Lili.] Worrying about you and Peter, the whole situation with Jules, other obligations for the rest of the summer looming over me. It's just tiring.

[ Listening to her, Matthew frowned even as he shifted to comfortably fit against her and massaged lazy circles between her shoulder blades. ] I-Is there anything I can do?

[ He took a breath and studied the headboard above them. ] ...You can always wake me up. My snores can't be the most pleasant noise to listen to while brooding.

[ That would most likely be a challenge, seeing as her body warmth already made him sleepy. But to leave with her worries and insomnia would be wrong. ]

[ Matthew removed his glasses and reached over to place them on the bedside table before he forgot. Then he rolled on his side, keeping his arms around her as he rested his forehead against Lili's. ]

Yes, but. [ A sigh. He didn't really know what to say. ] ...forgive me, I'll let you rest.

[ Matthew of course returned the kiss, vaguely happy at the realization that the gesture didn't fluster him anymore. He then averted his gaze, eyes half lidded. Guess who was determined not to sleep before she did? ]
